Apple held a special press conference at its headquarters in Cupertino on Friday. The central theme of the event was how to solve the reception signal problem on iPhone 4.

According to Steve Jobs, the problem does exist, however, the iPhone 4 doesn’t lose the signal everywhere and, moreover, such smartphones as Blackberry 9700, Samsung Omnia 2, HTC DROID Eris also suffer from this disadvantage. Nevertheless, the head of Apple admitted that iPhone 4 faces the signal loss problems more often than iPhone 3GS.

To solve the problem Apple offered to give free cases for every person that would buy iPhone 4 till September 30. In addition, Apple released the iOS 4.0.1 update to eliminate the problem connected with the incorrect signal strength displaying.

By the way, Steve Jobs announced that Apple has already sold more than 3 million iPhone 4 versions since its release. The iPhone 4 White is expected to hit the shelves in the end of July. Finally, Steve Jobs said that he himself does not use any case for his iPhone 4.

Apple has also added a special new section on their website, where they published some information for the iPhone 4 consumers concerning the phone antenna problems. Moreover, the company has posted video from the press conference held on Friday.
